Important Notice About AI Processing and Consent
Some Chatrypt features allow a user to request AI-assisted analysis of selected chat content. These features are optional and are only activated when the user deliberately starts an AI action and grants the requested in-app permission.
- We clearly disclose what is sent: only the text the user chooses to analyze, the user prompt or instruction, and minimal technical metadata needed to return the result.
- We identify who receives the data: OpenAI-powered processing services used to generate the requested analysis or response.
- We ask for consent before sending personal or conversation data to third-party AI processing services.
- We do not store the content of submitted conversations on our servers after the AI response is generated.

Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the app, and information from third-party sources.
Account Information:
- Phone number used for account registration
- Display name and profile photo (optional)
- Email address (if provided)
Usage Data:
- App interaction logs and feature usage statistics
- Device identifiers, operating system, and app version
- IP address and approximate geographic region
- Crash reports and performance diagnostics
AI Conversation Data:
- Only the message text, conversation excerpts, or prompts that you intentionally choose to submit to an AI feature
- Minimal technical metadata required to complete the request, such as language preference, request timing, and token or usage counts
- We do not intentionally send your full address book, unrelated chat history, or local files unless you explicitly include that information in the submitted text
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate, improve, and personalize the Chatrypt experience:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Authenticate your identity and manage your account
- Process subscription payments and verify purchases
- Power AI-driven messaging features and on-demand chat analysis that you actively request
- Send important service notifications and updates
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or illegal activity

Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: Trusted partners who assist in operating our infrastructure (cloud hosting, payment processors, analytics) under strict confidentiality agreements.
- AI Partners: When you use AI analysis or AI-assisted messaging, the submitted text is processed by OpenAI-powered services solely to generate the requested output. We require service providers handling this data to apply confidentiality, security, and restricted-access protections that are consistent with this Privacy Policy.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to affected users.
AI Features, OpenAI Processing & Consent
Chatrypt includes optional AI-powered messaging and chat analysis tools. This section explains exactly what happens when you choose to use those features.
What data may be sent for AI analysis:
- The exact text, message snippet, or conversation content that you select or paste into the AI feature
- Your prompt, question, or instruction for the AI analysis
- Limited technical metadata required to complete the request securely, such as request timing, language, and usage volume
What data is not intentionally sent unless you provide it:
- Your full message archive, complete contact list, or entire device contents
- Separate photos, videos, audio, or documents unless you explicitly submit them through an AI-enabled workflow
- Payment credentials, passwords, or hidden device data as part of normal AI analysis requests
Who receives the data:
Submitted AI prompts and selected conversation text are processed through OpenAI services, including OpenAI models made available through ChatGPT-style or OpenAI API-based processing. These third-party AI services act as processors for the limited purpose of generating the response you requested.
Consent before transfer:
Before any selected conversation content is transmitted to OpenAI for AI analysis, Chatrypt asks for your permission through the user interface. If you do not grant permission, the AI request is not sent. You remain free not to use AI features, and core parts of the app remain available without AI analysis.
How the data is used:
- To analyze the selected conversation or message and generate the AI response you requested
- To provide AI-assisted suggestions, summaries, classifications, or similar in-app features that you intentionally trigger
- To keep the request secure, rate-limited, and operationally reliable
Storage and retention of AI-submitted chat content:
Chatrypt does not store the content of chats, prompts, or conversation excerpts that you submit for AI analysis on our own servers after the requested analysis is completed. In other words, the submitted conversation content is processed for response generation and is not retained by us as a stored chat archive for later reuse.
Training restriction:
We do not use your private conversation content to train our own AI systems. We also require third-party AI processors to handle submitted data only for the requested service and under protections that are at least equivalent to the safeguards described in this Privacy Policy.
Your choice:
- You may decline AI consent and avoid sending any conversation data to OpenAI
- You may stop using AI-powered features at any time
- You should only submit content for AI analysis when you want that specific content analyzed
Data Storage & Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- Data is stored on secure servers with AES-256 encryption at rest
- All data in transit is protected by TLS 1.2+ encryption
- Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis
- Regular security audits and penetration testing are conducted
While we strive to protect your information, no transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable any available security features.
Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:
- Account data is retained while your account is active
- AI-submitted conversation content and prompts are not stored by us after the requested response is generated
- Aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely in anonymized form
- Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 90 days, except where retention is legally required
Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection: Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.
- Withdrawal: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

Children's Privacy
Chatrypt is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.

Chatrypt integrates with the following types of third-party services:
- Google Play / Apple App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchase processing.
- RevenueCat: For subscription management and revenue tracking.
- OpenAI: For optional AI-powered natural language processing, summaries, and chat analysis features that you explicitly request.
- Cloud Infrastructure: For hosting and data storage.
These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them as they govern their own data practices independently of Chatrypt.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes:
